fbpx Launch of Strategic Plan 2022 - 2027 and Celebration of ISO Re-Certification | University of Kabianga | Innovation and Excellence

On Friday 24th June, 2022 the University launched its 2022 - 2027 Strategic Plan and celebrated ISO 9001:2015 re-certification.

The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. Adelaide Mbaika Mbithi; who is the university's Chair of Council. In her speech she said the launch of the new Strategic Plan signifies a shift in service delivery at the University and the passion to serve all our customers with integrity, transparency and fairness as espoused in the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

She further revealed that the plan has been developed to refocus on the University’s niche, competitiveness and relevance while appreciating the dynamic business environment, societal and stakeholder needs and the emerging trends in technology, the Covid-19 Pandemic experiences, Government reforms on university education and other global trends.

On ISO celebration, Dr. Adelaide said, the re-certification of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System is laudable and that the University has committed itself in enhancing excellence in service delivery".

Representing the Ministry of Education, Mr. Vainadu Titus Ingana noted: "The 2022-2027 Strategic Plan that was launched has ambitious but achievable objectives. These are well thought out objectives that leverage on the successes of the past. They should be pursued with zeal to ensure that the University of Kabianga scales even greater heights". He added: "Indeed ISO re-certification is a clean bill of health given to your processes as a University. The Ministry is confident that you will continue to offer top-notch quality services that will in turn be the hallmark of your success in implementing this new Strategic Plan".

The University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Wilson Kipngeno said, "the 2022-2027 Strategic Plan will offer solutions. The plan is organized in seven (7) Key Result areas consisting of two core pillars and five enablers.

The core pillars are; the Academic Pillar and the Research, Innovation and Extension Pillar whereas the enablers are; Leadership and Governance, Human Resources, Administrative Support Services, Infrastructure Development and Financial Resources. These pillars provide a road map for achieving the University’s overall vision of being a leading University in scientific innovation for the betterment of humanity in the next five years and prioritize research and innovation".
