fbpx Menstrual Hygiene Day Celebration | University of Kabianga | Innovation and Excellence

On Friday the 28th of May 2021 the University of Kabianga Directorate of Gender & Development, UoK gender club members, and friends of the Directorate Celebrated the World’s Menstrual Hygiene Day by outreaching to schools in the University of Kabianga neighborhood. The group not only offered goodies of sanitary pads, tissues and soaps but also very informative information on menstruation. The speaker of the day Ms. Bevaline Kavai a nurse by profession, a staff at the UoK Kapkatet campus and member of the Gender mainstreaming Committee and came in handy in talking matters mensuration and menstrual hygiene to the young girls and boys.

The following schools were visited: Chelelaibei primary school in Bureti Sub county, Getarwet Mix Day Secondary School in Bureti Sub county, Kaplutiet primary school in Kericho West Sub County and Kapcheluch primary school in Kericho West Sub County. Around one thousand sanitary towels, soaps and tissue papers were distributed.
