The newly appointed University of Kabianga Council was sworn in on 26th November 2020. The Council is headed by Dr. Adelaide Mbaika Mbithi who was appointed by the government for a three-year period.  Dr.Adelaide Mbaika Mbithi is a Scholar and a Higher Education Development, Management and Training Consultant and Expert. She holds a doctorate (PhD) in Business Administration with specialization in Organizational Theory and Behavior from the University of Nairobi and a Head of State Commendation (HSC), Kenya.

Dr. Adelaide is an accomplished education, management and administrative professional with proven experience in higher education management, public administration, organizational development, project management, financial management, human resource management and transformational leadership.

With her in the Governing Council are: Amb. Aggrey Shitsama Shikanga, Dr. (Mrs) Anne Ayoo Oburu, Mr. William Peter Mayaka, Mr. David Njagi Ngonge, Mr. James Kimaru Bett, Mr. Stephen I. Muiruri (National Treasury Representative) and Archbishop Titus  Zakayo Ingana (Ministry of Education Representative). 

In her address speech during  the swearing in at the University’s Main Campus, the new Chairman noted that the new council comes in, to continue in this very noble to help, through appropriate oversight, grow and make the University of Kabianga a great University. She challenged the new team to be much more creative and innovative, apply appropriate digital technology and deploy strategies that will neutralize the effects of Covid-19 and catalyze institutional renewal and growth.
