For better or worse, it was a graduation like no other.

Wednesday, 24 March, 2021, the University of Kabianga held its first-ever virtual graduation ceremony, adapting with the help of technology to celebrate the achievements of its students amid the global pandemic and social distancing mandates.

The colorful event kicked off at 9:00am and was streamed live on KTN Home and the University’s facebook page and youtube channel.

Mr. William Peter Mayaka a council member performed the functions of the Chancellor of the University by Conferring Degrees and Diplomas to the 1684 graduands Class of 2020.

In his address speech to the graduands, the Chief Guest; Ambassador Simon Nabukwesi, the Permanent Secrerary- State Department for University Education and Research asked the graduands to have confidence in themselves, build on what they have learnt and be models in the society.

Dr. (Mrs.) Anne Oburu acting as the Council Chair asked the graduands to always find favour in the Lord and be brand ambassadors of the University wherever they go. “As you join the alumni community, aspire to inspire the rest in placing this University to the global map”, she said.

The VC challenged the graduands that education does not stop after one graduates nor after one completes their MBA or PhD, rather wisdom acquisition is a moral duty, a continuous process of advancement in life.
