The University of Kabianga organized a very successful Tree Planting and Peace Walk on Friday 5th May, 2017 in celebration of the 4th Cultural Week. The tree planting exercise was conducted in the University Main Campus and the peace walk was held at Kericho Town. Speaking during the function, the University of Kabianga Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Wilson Kipngeno, had this to say:
Today is a very important day for us as a University as we plant trees for peace and later proceed for a peace walk in Kericho town. Our environment is not only important for us; but also globally around the world. Today is the time to lay focus on the environment and peace. We do this special event together as a University of Kabianga to show the world around us that we value peace and appreciate diversity. University of Kabianga is so diverse in that it has students and staff from different places of the Republic. This diversity has become our strength."
