While observing Ministry of Health protocols and guidelines of curbing Covid - 19, University of Kabianga led by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Wilson Kipngeno had a tree planting exercise on Friday 29th October, 2021 at the University grounds. Seven hundred indigenous species of tree seedlings were planted.

"Under the Medium Term III, the Government has committed to protect natural forests in the water towers and continued rehabilitation of landscapes to increase and sustain water flow and ecological integrity. The strategy provides for a series of interventions towards achieving and maintaining 10% tree cover by 2022. That is why we are here today as patriotic citizens to plant trees to improve our forest cover for sustainable development", said the Vice-Chancellor on a speech read on his behalf by Prof. Eric Koech.

Present during the tree planting were UoK students, staff and Forest Officers from various Sub-Counties.
