University of Kabianga joined the rest of the World in marking the World International Women’s Day. The day which is annually celebrated on 8th March was celebrated on Monday 9th March 2020 at the University of Kabianga's Main Pavilion. This year’s theme is ‘Each for equality.

The event organized by the Directorate of Gender was graced by the UoK's Deputy Vice-Chancellor A&SA Prof. Elijah Omwenga , Dr. Ann Assey from the University of Nairobi as the Chief Guest and representatives from the office of the Woman Representative (Kericho County).

The day was filled with a number of activities: from procession, tree planting, entertainment and speeches.

In her speech, the Chief Guest Dr. Ann Assey asked women identify themselves with something and be in the front line in achieving their goals.

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
