University of Kabianga's Cultural Week Celebrations 2022

University of Kabianga community is celebrating its cultural week. The event started on Tuesday 11th and ends on Saturday 15th October 2022, the day that will culminate in the competition of Mr and Miss Kabianga.

The event was officially launched by the University's Vice-Chancellor Professor Wilson Kipngeno on Wednesday 12th October, 2022. He was flanked by his Deputy Vice-Chancellors: Prof. Maurice Odour of Research, Planning and Development, Prof. Eric Koech of Administration and Finance, Prof. Elijah Omwenga of Academic and Student Affairs and the Dean of Students Dr. Mary Wosyanju.

The event consisted of traditional dances, sports, games and traditional cuisines.

In his speech, Prof. Kipngeno stated that "as we celebrate our cultures this day, one of the things that we remember is the way our cultures should be integrated to fight poverty as enshrined in the theme of the event: “Cultural cohesion for a prosperous nation”. Our indigenous cultures advocated for cohesion and vouched for people to work hard with honesty and dedication. These cultural values made people work hard in acquisition of wealth".

The Vice-Chancellor and his team had the privilege of visiting various exhibition stands; where he freely mingled, interacted and tasted various indigenous food prepared by students (as to the standard of their cultures).
