MOU Follow up between University of Kabianga Department of Humanities and Social Sciences and University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ), Sri Lanka

Prof. Pavithra Madhuwanthi from University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ), Sri Lanka made a courtesy call to the Vice Chancellor of University of Kabianga Prof. Eric Koech (Ph.D,MBS) on 17th July 2025. She had offered her services as a Visiting Professor to the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences in the year 2024 for 2 months. 

During her first visit Prof. Pavithra, Dr. Thomas Otieno Juma (Head of Department Humanities and Social Sciences), Director of Research, Linkages and Extension Prof. Issa Mwamzandi, and the Dean School of Education Arts and Social Sciences Dr. Benedicta Tabot together with a team in Sri Lanka discussed about a collaboration that is now awaiting the signing of an MOU. 

Her courtesy call whereby she was accompanied by Dr. Thomas Otieno Juma, was to confirm to the Vice Chancellor their commitment to have University of Kabianga as the first University in Africa to have a collaboration with them. The students and lecturers from both institutions stand to benefit from this historic connection with an Asian University.
