4TH International Multidisciplinary Conference of University of Kabianga
The 15th of October 2025 marked a very significant occasion at the University of Kabianga where the Head of European Union Delegation to Kenya H. E. Amb Henriette Geiger officially opened the Conference. She was represented by Ms. Hamdi Ibrahim. The University fraternity led by the Chairman of the Council Prof. Bosire Monari Mwebi alongside the Vice Chancellor Prof Eric Koech welcomed the guest at the university. The conference ends on the 17th October 2025.
The Keynote Speaker in her message read to the distinguished researchers highlighted that it was her delight to be invited again at the University of Kabianga for the second time and this signified a lot of trust in the European Union that she currently heads. Additionally, she talked of focal areas available for partnership with Higher Institutions in Kenya among them being; Erasmus ++, student mobility programmes, and inter African European University collaborations. The Ambassador emphasized wide opportunities for expanded partnerships with EU. She engaged with the students of BA Public Administration and BA Human Rights thereafter in an interactive dialogue.
In their message on behalf of the University, they applauded the Head of EU Delegation to Kenya and confirmed readiness to foster deeper relations in scientific innovations. The Chairman of the Council and the VC emphasized that for research to be meaningful, the output should be tangible and felt by the communities and our countries as solution providers. This can happen if researchers gear their work towards greater innovation and commercialization. They singled out Dr. Wycliffe Wanyonyi Director of Quality Assurance for the cutting edge innovation of translating hides into a final environmental commodity using simple lab enzymes but lacking funds for commercialization.
During the Conference opening, as an epitome of research output from University Annual Research Grant, Dr. Thomas Otieno Juma (Chairman of the 4th International Multidisciplinary Conference Committee) and Prof. Issa Mwamzandi presented a researched book “Socio-Economic Impact of University of Kabianga on the Development of Kericho and Bomet Counties, Kenya”. The book was launched by the Chief Guest and the Chairman of the Council. In attendance of the conference was Mr. Michael Ang’anyo, Security Advisor in the Ministry of Interior and National Administration, an ardent researcher soon graduating his PhD Political Science at Moi University.
