Dean of Students Welcomes First-Year Students with Guidance on Campus Life and Security
The University of Kabianga warmly welcomed its 2025 cohort of first-year students with an orientation session led by the Dean of Students, alongside the University Security Department and student counselors.
In his address, the Dean of Students Dr.Ngugi, congratulated the new students on joining the UoK family and encouraged them to make the most of their time at the University by focusing on academic excellence, personal discipline, and community engagement. He reminded them that university life is a balance of freedom and responsibility, urging them to choose their companions wisely, manage their time well, and uphold integrity in all aspects of student life.
The University security team took the opportunity to sensitize the first years on safety within and outside campus, highlighting key guidelines such as observing traffic rules, avoiding risky areas at night, and safeguarding personal belongings. They emphasized that students must take responsibility for their own safety while also making use of the structures the University has put in place to ensure a secure learning environment.
Counselors from the Dean’s office and the Chaplaincy further reassured students of the University’s commitment to their well-being. They encouraged students to seek support whenever they experience academic, social, or emotional challenges, noting that asking for help is a sign of strength.
The orientation marked the beginning of an exciting journey for the new students, who will now embark on their academic programs with the full support of the University community.
The University of Kabianga is committed to nurturing well-rounded graduates who are not only academically excellent but also socially responsible and security-conscious citizens.
