PHOTC Conducts Accreditation Inspection Visit at the University of Kabianga, Kapkatet Campus.

The University of Kabianga's Kapkatet Campus on Tuesday, 27th January 2026, hosted an accreditation inspection visit by the Public Health Officers and Technicians Council (PHOTC) as part of the Council’s statutory mandate to regulate and accredit Public Health training programmes in Kenya.

The inspection was led by the Chairman of the Public Health, Dr. Kariuki and Officers amongst other Technicians from the Council. The visit aimed at ascertaining and verifying the current status of the University’s Public Health programme, with a view to facilitating its accreditation, in line with the provisions of the Public Health Officers (Training, Registration and Licensing) Act No. 12 of 2013.

The PHOTC inspection team was received by the University Management led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Eric Koech, together with the Deputy Vice-Chancellors: Prof. Maurice Odour – Planning, Research and Development, Prof. Isaac Naibei – Administration and Finance and Prof. Dr. Fredrick Nyongesa Kassleyy – Academic and Student Affairs.

During the visit, the team assessed key areas including academic resources, infrastructure, staffing, curriculum delivery and compliance with the Council’s accreditation requirements. The University Management reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high standards in training and strengthening collaboration with regulatory bodies to ensure quality education and professional competence.

The University of Kabianga appreciates the continued support and guidance from the Public Health Officers and Technicians Council and looks forward to sustained collaboration in advancing excellence in Public Health training and practice.
