University of Kabianga Hosts External Evaluators from the Performance Contract Monitoring Unit
On 21st November 2025 , the University of Kabianga officially welcomed a team of External Evaluators from the Performance Contract Monitoring Unit under the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary. The visit marked a significant step in assessing the institution’s progress and commitment to delivering on its annual performance targets.
The evaluation team was received by the Chair of Council Prof. Bosire Mwebi accompanied by Dr. Ednah Kangwana a distinguished member of the Education Council. Also present were the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Eric Koech, Deputy Vice-Chancellors, senior university administrators and staff from various departments whose contributions directly support the performance contracting process.
In his welcoming remarks, Prof. Mwebi expressed appreciation to the evaluators for their visit noting that performance contracting remains a key accountability tool for public institutions. He emphasized the University’s dedication to transparency, efficiency and continuous improvement in service delivery.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Koech highlighted the strides the University has made across key performance areas including teaching and learning, research, infrastructure development, financial management and community engagement. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to upholding national standards and ensuring alignment with government priorities.
The evaluators engaged with various departmental heads, reviewed documentation and conducted discussions aimed at verifying the institution’s performance indicators for the 2024/2025 contract period. They commended the University for its preparedness and the collaborative efforts exhibited by staff throughout the assessment process.
The day’s activities ran smoothly reflecting the University’s readiness and institutional cohesion. The visit concluded with a reaffirmation of the shared mission between the University of Kabianga and the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary to strengthen accountability frameworks within higher education institutions.
