Uok Holds 10th Cycle of Cultural Week

The 10th cycle of UoK  Cultural Week began on Monday 20th and will end on Saturday 25th, November 2023 with its theme: "Our culture, Our heritage". The  week is mix of sports, football, ball games, traditional dances, traditional cuisines and climaxes on competition of beauty contest of Mr. Kabianga and Ms. Kabianga among other activities.

The Cultural Week was officially opened on Wednesday 22nd, November 2023 by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Eric Koech (on the mic).  As with time, our cultures are changing but, "A healthy culture; therefore, learns to adapt to changes, and can expand and grow without feeling its own core values are threatened", Prof. Koech said in his address.

The Guest of Honour  Mr. Kilian Nyambu - The Deputy Director Public Education and Engagement at National Commision of Integration and Cohesion (NCIC) (seated 2nd from left in the 1st row) in his address impressed upon the student fraternity to embrace each other as the University celebrates and recognize various cultures and the rich diverse  cultures at the University.

Present on the opening occasion were a number of staff and a mammoth of students led by its 9th Student Governing Council Chairman Mr. Dismas Kiptoo.
