UoK Leadership Holds High-Level Consultative Meeting on Strategic Direction
A high-level consultative meeting bringing together the Chancellor, Dr. Kevit Desai, PhD, MBS, CBS, FIET, the Chairman of Council, Prof. Bosire Monari Mwebi, Ph.D (left), and the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Eric Koech, Ph.D, MBS (right) was held at Kenya School of Curriculum Development (KICD) on 28th April, 2026. The engagement provided a valuable platform for strategic dialogue on the University’s vision, governance, and institutional priorities.
The deliberations centered on strengthening academic excellence and advancing University’s role in research, innovation, and societal impact. The leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to fostering a resilient, progressive institution that aligns with both national priorities and global standards.
Specifically, the need to position University of Kabianga as; “ Kenya’s pilot zone for digital agriculture in high value crops”; as “The applied innovation hub for the South Rift Agro-industrial economy”; formalizing public-private partnerships with a focus of moving beyond ad hoc collaborations; and turning the University into a “living lab” among other initiatives.
The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and alignment, underscoring the importance of collaborative leadership in driving the University’s growth and transformation.
